Who is William Deiz?

William (Bill) Deiz won a Los Angeles Emmy as a television news reporter, and had a nearly 40 year career as an anchor, producer and reporter in Los Angeles, San Francisco and his home town of Portland, Oregon.  He wrote ‘’The Man from Tuskegee.’’ as a tribute to the brave men and women who faced the Nazi threat during World War II. As part of KCBS TV’s coverage of Patty Hearst’s kidnapping, he ushered in the age of electronic news gathering and live coverage of breaking news events that are still employed today, notably in war zones.
